Calamine Lotion

Composition:  

Calamine 8 gm % Diphenylhydramine 1gm % Camphor 0.1gm %.

 

Properties:

 Calamine lotion is used for local application to the skin effective for a wide variety of skin disorders. It is known for its protective mild astringent and antibacterial actions. It is used to relief roughness, redness and irritable conditions of the skin including sunburn. Camphor is a topical antipruritic and ant-infective agent and when applied externally it dilutes the skin blood vessels helping in relieving allergic symptoms. The lotion also contains glycerin which is an established emollient and lubricant that helps to maintain the skin moist for considerable time minimizing any inflammatory condition of the skin.

 

Indications:

 Calamine is applied externally for the relief of :  Inflammatory skin reactions , redness and roughness, Eczema, mild sunburn, As protective in cases of slight excoriations.       

 Note : It is intended for external use only. It should be applied to intact skin away from the eyes and mucous membranes.

 

Contra-indication:

 Rarely in certain sensitive individuals and on prolonged use ( more than one week continuously).   

 

Packing:

 Bottles containing 100 ml.
